People in Jalisco, Mexico will now be able to enjoy universal health coverage. President Calderon announced the implementation of the Jalisco Universal Public Health Coverage Policy during the opening of the Regional General Hospital No. 180 of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS).
As part of the opening of the new health care establishment, President Calderon, accompanied by State Governor Emilio Gonzalez Marquez, gave an opening speech expressing his appreciation for the efforts put forth by the municipality’s local administration in establishing a new hospital within the region. The current President of Mexico said that the Jaliscienses will now have health care privileges regardless of employment status or social condition.
The new Universal Public Health Coverage will be able to provide health care services including doctor’s appointment, medicines, treatments and hospitalization. All these can be given to any resident of Jalisco needing it as the coverage will reach the whole population.
President Calderon added that the success of the new health care program is due to the new medical infrastructure investments in the country, including the Regional General Hospital No. 180 as well as the number of increasing insurance beneficiaries. The new general hospital in the Municipality of Tlajomulco de Zuniga, Jalisco is considered as one of the largest hospitals in Mexico.
